Exhibition Showcasing Children's Products in Ekaterinburg
The 15th International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM, held from July 7 to 10 at the Ekaterinburg-EXPO IEC, saw a strategic session titled "Native Toy: Contribution to the Country's Future." The session, partnered with Saudi Arabia, was a significant platform for the development and promotion of the domestic children's goods industry, with the All-Russian "Native Toy" competition taking centre stage.
The "Native Toy" contest, a national initiative, aims to foster cultural values in children and protect the country's sovereignty and cultural code. By focusing on toys that are deeply rooted in Russian culture, the contest encourages the creation of products that not only support cultural preservation but also enhance the appeal of domestically produced toys.
The contest plays a pivotal role in promoting local manufacturing and supporting import substitution. By focusing on toys made in Russia, the contest helps stimulate economic activity within the country, benefiting local producers and contributing to economic growth.
The competition also serves as a platform for designers and manufacturers to innovate and create unique toys that are both culturally relevant and engaging for children. This drive for creativity within the industry leads to more diverse and appealing products, further boosting the appeal of domestically produced toys.
Speakers at the session emphasised that the "Native Toy" project aims to create an environment where the industry works for the benefit of children's upbringing and the development of a new creative generation. Vladimir Mostovoy, Deputy Director of the Department of Regional Industrial Policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, expressed his optimism about the industry's future, citing a great response from enterprises and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's commitment to support the contest and provide maximum support to winners at both federal and regional levels.
Dariana Murinovich, head of the "Industry, Trade, and Transport" department of the Society "Knowledge" development department, expressed that discussing industry-related issues on international platforms demonstrates growing interest in the topic of native toys. She noted that the "Native Toy" project involves modernization of equipment, promotion on domestic and foreign markets, patenting, intellectual property protection, and more.
The prospects of local production of children's goods and issues of import substitution were addressed during the session. Experts considered Russian games and toys as a tool for preserving traditional values and educating children and youth. They also emphasised that the more high-quality Russian-produced toys there are, the more children will be protected from destructive influences.
Previously, toy and game projects from the Sverdlovsk region have advanced to the next stage of the All-Russian "Native Toy" competition, as reported by "Regional Newspaper." The contest, which is part of the ongoing INNOPROM-2025, is a significant platform for the development and promotion of the domestic children's goods industry, shaping its future and fostering a sense of national identity among children through toys that reflect Russian culture and values.
The "Native Toy" competition, a national initiative, further extends to other aspects of life, promoting a lifestyle that cherishes cultural preservation and fosters home-and-garden products reflecting Russian values. By successfully integrating cultural elements into children's goods, the contest encourages local design and manufacturing in various sectors, ensuring economic growth and sovereignty.
