Euskirchen's Green Logistics Revolution: MM Flowers to Anchor 42,000 sqm Eco-Hub
A new era of sustainable logistics is set to begin in Euskirchen. Complemus Real Estate is developing a 42,330 square meter site into eco-friendly production and logistics halls, with a groundbreaking ceremony held in September 2023 by Mayor Sacha Reichelt and representatives of Complemus and MM Flowers Europe. The project, scheduled for completion in summer 2026, will see MM Flowers Europe become the anchor tenant.
The halls will be certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) in gold, reflecting the project's commitment to sustainability. Heat pumps will be used for heating and cooling, and an extensive E-charging infrastructure will be installed. The roofs will be green, and parts of the facade will be greened, further enhancing the environmental friendliness of the complex.
MM Flowers plans to employ between 330 and 600 people at the Euskirchen location, providing a significant boost to the local economy. The company has signed a 15-year lease for approximately 13,000 square meters of space, with an option to extend for a further five years. The remaining vacant hall spaces are currently being sought for a tenant. The project will also feature a photovoltaic system with a capacity of approximately 1.8 megawatts peak, contributing to its sustainability goals.
The completion of the project in summer 2026 will mark a significant milestone in the development of the Euskirchen location. The halls, designed with sustainability in mind, will not only serve as a hub for MM Flowers' operations but also contribute to the region's economic growth and environmental responsibility.
