Erlangen Dances: Transforming the City Centre into an Open-Air Dance Floor
Get ready to dance the night away in Erlangen, Germany, as the city centre is set to become an open-air dance space from the 1st to the 24th of August, 2025. This exciting event, known as Erlangen Dances, is part of the "WerkRaum Erlangen" project's efforts to make the city centre more attractive and livable for everyone.
Over the course of four weekends, a total of 18 dance schools and professionals will be showcasing their skills, providing opportunities for both participation and spectatorship in dance. The dance program will take place every Thursday to Sunday, from 5 PM to 10 PM.
One of the highlights of Erlangen Dances is the "Erlangen tanzt!" event on August 22. This event features two free Charleston workshops led by the Swing Rebels dance school. The schedule includes a Solo Charleston Beginner Workshop from 7 PM to 8 PM, followed by a Partner Charleston Beginner Workshop from 8 PM to 9 PM. These workshops will take place either behind the theater at the end of Wasserturmstraße in Erlangen or at Tanzschule Rupprecht Gillet, Nürnberger Straße 10, 91052 Erlangen.
Streetfox's Sabine and Marcus will also be participating in Erlangen Dances, adding to the diverse range of dancers and dance styles that will be on display.
