Preparations Underway for Three Major Mare Parades at Ganschow Stud in July

Preparations for the upcoming horse shows at Ganschow Stud (located in the Rostock district) are in full swing. Due to persistent rain, today's training sessions for the parades were shifted indoors. Organizers reported that the horses were giving their best performances.

The horse shows, scheduled for the first three weekends in July, will feature ten mares competing alongside a four-in-hand team. Classical driving commands such as "Whoa," "Gee," and "Whoa" (indicating go, right, slow down, and stop, respectively) will be used during the parades.

The three mare parades on July 6th, 13th, and 19th are expected to draw thousands of spectators. In addition to the parades, the program includes a grand two-in-hand quadrille featuring 32 harnessed horses and a free-running herd.

The Ganschow Stud was founded in 1969 and is located approximately eight kilometers from Güstrow between Rostock and Berlin. Ganschow Stud was privatized in 1995 by its current owner, Friedhelm Mencke. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the privatization of Ganschow Stud. Currently, around 300 warmbloods are housed on the premises. The stud's breeding focuses on a herd of select Mecklenburg and Trakehner broodmares built up over several decades.

The Commission has also examined the possibility of granting a derogation from the general rules on the application of the principle of equal treatment, especially considering the lifestyle changes and home-and-garden adjustments required to accommodate the influx of visitors during the upcoming horse shows at Ganschow Stud in July. Amid the preparations for the parades, organized commands such as "Whoa," "Gee," and "Whoa" will continue to play a crucial role in maintaining the horses' discipline and ensuring a breathtaking show for all spectators.
