Emmen’s Old TCS Building Transforms Into a Creative Hub by 2026
The building’s upper floors will feature rooms ranging from 13 to 35 square meters. Each space includes built-in storage, and connecting doors allow for larger combined units. These areas will serve as ateliers, offices, workshops, and rehearsal spaces for creatives and small businesses.
On the ground floor, a central meeting area will include a café, a conservatory, and green outdoor spaces. The project, led by Laura Breitschmid and Laura Schnyder, is designed to foster collaboration and creativity. Rental prices will vary between CHF 8.90 and CHF 22.90 per square meter per month, covering fixed operating costs.
The interim use of the building is set to run from February 2026 until 2030. Brahim Aakti, town councilor and director of culture, has expressed enthusiasm for the project’s potential to create a new community hotspot in Emmen.
The Buholz-Interim project will provide affordable spaces for artists, associations, and startups. With flexible rooms and shared amenities, it is set to become a key location for creativity and collaboration in Emmen. The initiative will remain active until at least 2030.
