Ehra's Sandweg Playground Debuts Upgraded Mud Play Area for Kids

A newly upgraded mud play area has opened at Sandweg playground in Ehra. The project, led by the Playground Working Group, was officially inaugurated by Deputy Mayor Peter Albrecht. Dozens of children tested the area, giving it their approval before its full launch. The mud play area was installed over the winter months and is now ready for use. Councilwomen Kirsikka Lansmann and Katinka Ditges oversaw the upgrades as part of the Playground Working Group's efforts to improve local facilities.

At the inauguration, children tried out the new space, confirming its success. After the event, food and drinks were provided for attendees. Further improvements are already planned. This spring, a new spinning top will replace the old one at the Molkereistraße playground. Additional tree plantings are also scheduled to create more shade and sun protection across playgrounds in the area.

The Sandweg playground now features a fully operational mud play area. The project marks the first recorded modernisation by the Playground Working Group in Ehra-Lessien in recent years. More upgrades, including new equipment and greenery, will follow in the coming months.
