Dual Leadership Takes Helm at Allgäu/Swabia-South’s Visual Artists Association
The Professional Association of Visual Artists Allgäu/Swabia-South (BBK) has elected two new co-chairs to lead its 209 members. Margarete 'Peggy' Uhlich, 78, and Iris Zeh, 45, will now guide the organization together. Both bring different backgrounds but share a common goal of strengthening the BBK’s role in the region.
Margarete 'Peggy' Uhlich, a Kempten-based photographer with decades of experience, steps into the role alongside Iris Zeh, a Memmingen-based illustrator, media designer, and business mentor. Despite their differing artistic disciplines, the pair have committed to working as a team.
The new leadership has set clear priorities. One key aim is to foster closer connections between artists and the wider public. They also plan to push the BBK’s presence beyond its current boundaries, with a particular focus on Westallgäu and the Lake Constance area. While the organization has not publicly named specific representatives tasked with boosting visibility for artists in these regions, the expansion remains a central part of their strategy.
The BBK now moves forward under joint leadership, with Uhlich and Zeh at the helm. Their plans include deeper engagement with society and broader geographical reach. The association’s 209 members will see these changes unfold in the coming months.
