Domestic animals and wild fauna are hindering my progress in maturity.
In Yakutsk, Ilmensky Street has become a site of concern due to cows trampling and destroying young apple trees. The problem is being addressed by imposing fines on the owner of the cows, O. A. Okhlopkova.
According to Part 2 of Article 58 of the Rules for the Improvement of Yakutsk, grazing of farm animals is only permitted in specially designated areas. However, Okhlopkova's cows have been taking advantage of the new lawn on Ilmensky Street every day for grazing, causing damage to the trees.
To preserve the trees on Ilmensky Street, several practical measures can be implemented. Installing fences or protective enclosures around trees can prevent cows from directly accessing and damaging them. Creating specific areas away from streets and public tree plantings where cows can graze freely also reduces the likelihood of them damaging trees in urban settings.
Community awareness and coordination are key. Working with local cattle owners and the community to raise awareness about the damage caused and encouraging them to keep cows away from street trees can help reduce incidents. Reinforcing the base of trees with guards made from durable materials can shield young trees from trampling and nibbling.
Municipal authorities could enforce rules that prevent livestock from roaming freely within city limits or close to vulnerable urban greenery, with occasional monitoring and penalties if needed. Incorporating livestock management into city planning by creating green zones dedicated to animals or separate livestock corridors away from pedestrian and urban greenspaces is another approach.
The city of Yakutsk is taking steps to improve its green spaces. The Yakut company "Zeleny Ray" won the tender for the greening project and has its own nursery of woody plants. The city authorities have received the results of scientific research on urban greening, identifying suitable plant species for local conditions.
The city administration has changed its approach to greening this year, signing three-year contracts for planting saplings and subsequent care. The trees on Ilmensky Street were planted as part of the "Children of Asia" Games. The contractor is obligated to replace all dead and non-surviving plants with similar ones and has obligations for watering the trees.
If Okhlopkova continues to violate the law, she may be fined up to 5,000 rubles. The Administrative Commission notes that USH should explain to the owners of cattle about the inadmissibility of grazing cattle within the city, or terminate the agreements on subsidizing.
The identified plant species will be included in unified greening standards to be formalized in the Rules for the Improvement of Yakutsk. The greening of Yakutsk is a significant topic, as seen in articles like "Yakutsk to be greened in a new way - what the mayor proposed" and "Greening of Yakutsk: Without willow, the city will turn into a bog". Ekaterina Pavlov, advisor to the head of Yakutsk on greening, has commented on the issue.
The question of Okhlopkova's repeated liability is currently being considered. If necessary, fences will be necessary to protect the trees from further damage. The cows, however, continue to be taken to Ilmensky Street for grazing each day.
In the effort to safeguard the trees on Ilmensky Street, it's advisable to consider installing fences or protective enclosures around them, as well as creating specific grazing areas away from streets and public plantings for cattle.
As the city of Yakutsk works to improve its green spaces, continued education about the damage caused by grazing cattle in urban settings and the importance of keeping livestock away from street trees becomes crucial for the community's cooperation in preserving the environmental-science aspects of the city's lifestyle and home-and-garden spaces.
