Diners Express Discontent Over Prolonged 2-Hour Waits at the Freshly Opened Eatery in Pleasant Hill

Pleasant Hill, CA – A surge of weekend customers has caused lengthy wait times at the newly opened breakfast spot, Crumb's, located in the former Old Pancake House building. Some frustrated patrons have reported waits exceeding two hours, causing some to leave without being seated.

On a holiday morning, Paul L. from Gregory Gardens, anticipating a wait, was surprised by the excessive length of the queue. He and several others decided to abandon their place in line.

Crumb's, the latest addition to the dining scene, has already gained popularity and is also present in Danville. Interestingly, our team experienced no wait at Crumb's on a weekday morning, suggesting it may be one of those restaurants where wait times are manageable on weekdays and overwhelming on weekends.

While Crumb's grapples with the influx of customers, another new Pleasant Hill establishment, Royale, has gained praise for excellent food, service, and no wait, despite being newly opened.

Positive sentiments about Royale are shared by local residents, with Pat R. from Fair Oaks describing it as "amazing" and Diane H. from Shadowood/Tres Lagos agreeing, calling it "a delight" despite slightly higher prices.

Despite the challenges at Crumb's, some residents remain optimistic, acknowledging the teething issues common for new restaurants. Diane S. from Gregory Gardens advised patience as Crumb's continues to find its footing.

Remarkably, similar wait times have been reported at another highly anticipated new restaurant, Horn BBQ, in the 925 area, where the long waits were considered worth the experience, even after waiting 75 minutes in the rain.

Residents have also suggested alternatives for reliable breakfast options, including Plaza Bistro and Plaza Cafe.

Crumb's may not be ideal for a relaxed weekend brunch, given the extended wait times, as one might prefer dining at home-and-garden tranquility instead. In contrast, the newly opened Royale offers a stunning food-and-drink experience without the wait, becoming a promising option for Lifestyle enthusiasts in Pleasant Hill.
