Digital Women's AI Build Day Unites Creatives for a Hackathon with Purpose

Digital Women is hosting an AI Build Day on 24 March 2026 at Canva's London office. The event brings together up to 40 participants to develop AI-powered solutions in a hands-on hackathon format. Open to marketers, founders, creatives, and anyone curious about AI, no technical background is required to take part.

The hackathon will follow a structured schedule, starting with team allocation and a briefing on judging criteria. Participants will then take part in short skill sessions before diving into a build sprint. Teams of six will work together to create a tangible AI-driven product, focusing on areas like economic empowerment, health, education, and leadership.

Each team will include a mix of roles—builders, marketers, creatives, strategists, and sales specialists—to ensure diverse perspectives. They can use any AI tools, from ChatGPT and Canva's AI features to no-code platforms and image generators. The day concludes with team pitches to a live judging panel, followed by first, second, and third place awards.

Lucy Hall, Founder of Digital Women, will host the event and lead a panel discussion. Hannah Saycell, CEO & Founder of Social Folk, will deliver a session on structuring a three-minute pitch. The theme, 'AI Build Day! Give To Gain' aligns with International Women's Day 2026's 'Give To Gain' campaign.

Participants will gain practical AI experience, cross-functional collaboration, and CPD accreditation. Professional photography and video coverage will also be provided for all attendees.

The event offers a chance to experiment with AI tools while addressing real-world challenges. Winners will be recognised, and all participants will leave with hands-on experience, networking opportunities, and accredited professional development. Registration remains open to anyone interested in exploring AI-driven innovation.
