Dhaka’s ‘Whisper of Green’ Art Camp Unites Artists for the Balu River’s Survival
The White Paper, a prominent artists' organization, marked its fifth anniversary with an art camp 'Whisper of Green' in Dhaka. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues, particularly those affecting the Balu River and its ecosystem. Thirty artists, led by Sonya Binta Hasan and joined by renowned guest artists like Biren Shome and Abdus Satter, created drawings of riverside areas, people, and environmental concerns in Patira, a region impacted by urbanization and tourism.
The art camp was a significant event for the White Paper, which was founded in 2021 to connect renowned and young artists globally and promote Bangladeshi art internationally. Over the past five years, the organization has been promoting Bangladeshi arts and artists in the global market, collaborating with the International Watercolour Society.
