The city of Gütersloh is set to host the eleventh edition of the popular event series "Lebende Gärten" (Living Gardens), from September 10, 2025. This year, the series offers a total of 15 individual events, each focusing on practical knowledge about gardens, vegetable cultivation, sustainability, and climate change.

Organized by the Environmental Protection Department of Gütersloh and the Volkshochschule, the event series aims to provide valuable information and insights into various aspects of vegetable cultivation and garden design. The initial four events will take place in September, with the series scheduled to run throughout the month.

On September 10, 2025, the series kicks off with the eleventh edition of "Living Gardens" itself. This will be followed by a city park and botanical garden excursion led by garden planner Daniela Toman on September 19, 2025. Garden architect Tanja Minardo will deliver a lecture on "The Garden in Climate Change" on October 8, 2025.

Dr. Heidi Lorey, a garden expert, will provide tips on growing winter vegetables on September 25, 2025. The events also aim to shed light on the importance of sustainability, with practical sessions and discussions focused on eco-friendly gardening practices.
