Colorado students light up the market with affordable custom LED solutions

Two university students in Colorado have launched a startup offering customisable LED lighting at lower prices than competitors. CMBulbs, based in Grand Junction, specialises in affordable outdoor lights that work year-round—not just for holidays. The business has already completed several local projects and now aims to grow beyond the Grand Valley region.

Jackson Amerine and Jayden Dirksen, both students at Colorado Mesa University, founded CMBulbs after noticing high costs from similar lighting companies. Amerine studies radiologic sciences, while Dirksen focuses on engineering. Their budget-friendly approach quickly attracted interest, especially during the holiday season.

CMBulbs has filled a gap in the market with its affordable, customisable lighting. The startup’s early success in Grand Junction suggests demand for its services beyond the local area. Expansion plans are now underway as the founders look to grow their customer base.
