The much-anticipated Dreck-weg-Tag event, organised by the Pro Düsseldorf association, is scheduled to take place on June 12, 2021, from 10 am to 1 pm. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the event will adhere to Corona conditions, including social distancing and hygiene regulations.

The material distribution for this environmental initiative will take place during the event itself, as well as in the week leading up to it. Participants can pick up trash bags, gloves, and other necessary materials at the distribution centres located at Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen and Schützenplatz in Garath. Materials can also be collected at Am Draap 17 in the week prior to the event.

The Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen distribution centre is accessible via the Oberkasseler Bridge exit. The Schützenplatz distribution centre is located at Frankfurter Straße 323 in Garath.

The necessity to organise a clean-up has become even greater due to Corona, as AWISTA CEO Jörg Müller mentioned that used masks and packaging waste, particularly around 'to go' businesses, have become significant problems.

Despite the challenges posed by material costs and logistical difficulties, the actions for kindergartens and schools have been cancelled. However, all students still have the opportunity to participate in the "regular" Dreck-weg-Tag.

Dr. Klaus Vorgang from the Pro Düsseldorf board stated that they are optimistic about the event taking place. For those interested in participating, registration can be done on the event's website, www.dreck-weg-tag.de.

Participants are encouraged to collect materials at other locations in the city, but must pick them up themselves before the Dreck-weg-Tag at Am Draap 17. The event had to be postponed twice in 2021, but with the current circumstances, it is set to proceed as planned.

As always, it is advised to check local health department websites or contact the event organisers directly for the most up-to-date information on Corona guidelines and regulations.

  1. Environmental-science enthusiasts can expect a bounty of essential materials for Dreck-weg-Tag from centers at Oberkasseler Rheinwiesen, Schuetzenplatz in Garath, and Am Draap 17, catering to both on-event and pre-event collection.
  2. To take a proactive step in sustainable living, the attendees of Dreck-weg-Tag can pick up trash bags, gloves, and more, aiming to combat the rise of Corona waste around 'to go' businesses.
  3. Given the increased focus on environmental-science amidst climate-change issues, The Dreck-weg-Tag event, organized by Pro Düsseldorf association, promises to be an engaging blend of science, lifestyle, home-and-garden, and sustainable-living initiatives.
