Claas invests 30 million euros for the series launch of the new Jaguar 1200
Claas is investing around €30 million to upgrade its production site in Harsewinkel. The expansion aims to modernise facilities and secure the plant’s long-term competitiveness. New technologies and automation will play a key role in the upgrade.
The project, part of the Fabrik der Zukunft (Factory of the Future) research network, focuses on automation and sustainability. Advanced simulation tools now allow planners to design transport container logistics before implementation. A 3D virtual layout was also used to digitise building and facility planning.
The new 50,000-square-foot logistics centre will house around 100 office workstations. Jan-Hendrik Mohr, CEO of Claas Group, called the centre the *heart of production*. The upgrade standardises and optimises both logistics and manufacturing processes. Energy efficiency is another priority. The building incorporates geothermal and photovoltaic systems to meet the latest sustainability standards. These changes support the upcoming series launch of the Jaguar 1000 forage harvester line.
The expansion introduces automation to cut costs and improve productivity. Sustainable technologies and modernised workflows will strengthen the Harsewinkel site’s position. The investment ensures the facility remains competitive in agricultural machinery production.
