City Library's Offered Seeds for Public Use
The Neuss City Library and the "Association for the Preservation of Useful Plant Diversity" (VEN) have joined forces to initiate an exciting new project. This initiative aims to preserve and grow various flowers and plants, encouraging residents of Neuss to participate in a sustainable gardening project.
Starting Tuesday, March 1st, residents can collect free seeds for five crop species: beans, peas, spinach, lettuce, and tomatoes, generously provided by VEN members. Prepared, labeled return bags will be available for collecting and returning the new seeds from your harvest. However, it's important to note that this project does not involve any subscription to a newsletter.
Participants can choose to grow "Shoshonen", "Swiss Giants", or "Date Palm" in their gardens or on their balconies as part of this project. By doing so, they'll contribute to the preservation of plant diversity while enjoying the growth and harvest of their plants.
To ensure successful gardening, information materials and troubleshooting tips will be provided by VEN and the city library. Additionally, participants can expect guidance on sustainable gardening practices and seed-saving techniques.
While subscribing to the city library's newsletter is optional and not necessary for participating in the seed project, it does offer in-depth information about social developments, culinary arts, art, and culture in Neuss. The newsletter, which is sent to subscribers' email addresses, covers a range of topics and does not send spam messages. Subscribers can learn more about the newsletter's privacy policy.
For specific information about the project, including registration, availability of seeds, educational sessions, and any procedural requirements, we recommend contacting the Neuss City Library directly or checking official local community or environment websites. You can find more information about this project on the Neuss City Library's website at this link.
Participants who sow, nurture, and care for the plants will find joy in their growth and harvest, knowing they are contributing to a valuable cause and creating a greener, more diverse Neuss.
