"City Authority Takes Over Management of Aktobe's Retro-Park"

In the heart of Aqtobe, the iconic "Retro Park" is passing hands, moving from private media company "Rika" to state ownership. Nestled behind the "Locomotive" cinema, this park has served the city for over two decades under the leadership of Natalia Bandrovskaya. At the suggestion of the city's Akim, Aqzamet Beket, the park's transfer was deemed appropriate.

Residents have voiced concerns about the park's shabby condition and the need for modernization, prompting discussions between Akim Beket and Natalia Bandrovskaya, the latter of whom decided to donate the park to the city without compensation.

"The park covers 2 hectares and has been under my care for two decades. The times have changed, and the people's expectations have risen. I can't maintain and modernize the park with the necessary financial and labor investments, so it's only right to pass it on to the city," Bandrovskaya said.

The park's current state is indeed lackluster, as acknowledged by city authorities. Today, the park received a much-needed cleanup as part of the city's akimat's efforts to enhance its condition.

"We aim to bring the park up to date. Thanks to our sponsors, we plan to install a children's playground, a football field, new benches, trash cans, and lighting on the park's territory. The park is dear to the hearts of Aqtobe's natives, so we'll preserve its 'Retro' essence during the modernization process," Beket stated.

Around 60 civic-minded individuals, including members of the youth wing "Zhasar Ruhy," participated in a "Clean Thursday" action as part of the "Clean Kazakhstan" campaign, cleaning and maintaining the park.

Interestingly, entrepreneurs and large enterprises in Aqtobe have stepped up to contribute to the renovation of parks and squares, as well as the improvement of vacant territories, through sponsorship support, in response to the Akim's appeal.

Plans for the park's future are yet to be fully disclosed. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it would be best to consult official sources or local news outlets in Kazakhstan.

"As the park transitions to city ownership, plans for modernization are underway, with a focus on enhancing the outdoors and maintaining the park's retro charm. This includes the installation of a children's playground, new benches, and lighting, as well as the creation of an outdoor football field."

"With the park's expansion to home-and-garden areas, Aqtobe residents hope to see improvements that will encourage outdoor living, making the 'Retro Park' a beloved gathering spot in the heart of the city."
