Classic children’s audio dramas are making a comeback in the ARD Audiothek. Beloved titles like Peter Pan and Bill Bergson (Kalle Blomquist) will soon be available again. The platform is also adding festive stories for the holiday season.
The ARD Media Library will release two Christmas-themed audio dramas on December 19, 2025. Listeners can enjoy A Christmas Carol and The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Hilfe, die Herdmanns kommen). These will join other well-known productions already returning to the service.
*Peter Pan* will be available in two parts, with new episodes released weekly. The selection has been carefully reviewed to ensure a safe listening experience for children. Each title includes age recommendations and editorial oversight. From now on, these audio dramas will only be accessible on demand through the ARD Audiothek. The publisher behind the new releases has not been named in available reports.
The return of these stories gives families access to classic and seasonal audio dramas in one place. All titles will follow strict content guidelines to suit younger audiences. Listeners can stream them exclusively through the ARD Audiothek platform.
