Chemnitz’s 7th Dream Concert unites artists with and without disabilities in a night of inclusion
The 7th Dream Concert, a celebration of inclusion and diversity, is set to take place in Chemnitz on Monday, November 24. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held at the Stadthalle and is patronised by Annett Hofmann, wife of Saxony’s Minister-President. Michael Kretschmer, the Minister-President himself, will attend as an honorary guest.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased through Chemnitz Tourist Information or online. The Dream Concert has previously received the Saxon Inclusion Award, recognising its efforts in promoting inclusivity. This year's concert will feature young artists with and without disabilities performing alongside musicians from the Robert Schumann Philharmonic. The event is organised by Petra Liebetrau, Chemnitz’s Inclusion Commissioner, and the Bürgerstiftung für Chemnitz.
In a show of international cooperation, a delegation from Chemnitz’s Israeli partner city, Kiryat Bialik, will attend the concert. They will engage in cultural exchange activities, fostering ties between the two cities. The concert also ensures accessibility for all, offering braille programs, German Sign Language translation, and live audio description for blind attendees.
The Dream Concert, with its commitment to inclusion and accessibility, promises to be a memorable event. With prominent patrons, international guests, and a diverse lineup of performers, it is a testament to Chemnitz’s cultural vibrancy.
