Braunschweig’s towering Christmas trees signal festive season arrival
Braunschweig is gearing up for the festive season as two towering Nordmann firs, each around ten meters tall, have been installed on Cathedral Square and the Old Town Market. These trees are a clear sign that the city's Christmas market is just around the corner.
The trees were sourced from a local garden center in the region and carefully positioned by the city's Parks and Gardens Department. This was done on behalf of Braunschweig Stadtmarketing GmbH, ensuring the city center is ready for the upcoming celebrations.
The trees, standing tall and proud, are not just decorative. They also mark the beginning of the pre-Christmas season and the Advent period in Braunschweig. Locals and visitors alike can expect a festive atmosphere to descend upon the city as the days grow shorter and colder.
After the Sunday of the Dead, these magnificent trees will be illuminated, casting a warm and inviting glow over the city center. The Christmas market is set to begin soon, and the trees serve as a prominent indicator of the joyous festivities to come.
