Braunschweig Launches Green Mobility with Company Bike Leasing
The city of Braunschweig is embracing sustainable mobility. It has started a company bike leasing scheme, allowing employees to lease bicycles for commuting and leisure. This initiative, part of Volkswagen's green mobility efforts, is provided by 'Lease a Bike', a VWFS subsidiary.
The scheme offers high-quality bicycles, e-bikes, and cargo bikes. Employees can lease these for three years, with the leasing fee deducted from their gross salary in a tax-efficient manner. An extensive insurance and maintenance package is included, configurable to individual needs.
Anthony Bandmann, a board member at Volkswagen Financial Services AG, welcomed the city's adoption of the 'Lease a Bike' service. Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum stated that the scheme promotes ecological and healthy mobility. The city will provide bicycles of various types and brands.
Braunschweig's company bike leasing scheme is set to enhance employees' mobility options while reducing environmental impact. With a wide range of bicycles available and a comprehensive leasing package, the city aims to foster a greener, healthier commuting culture.
