Boxers as a Christmas gift?!
The holiday season is here, bringing twinkling lights, festive music, and the joy of giving. Children across Europe have shared their wishes—from family time to homemade gifts—while cities dazzle with record-breaking decorations.
In Germany, Dortmund’s Christmas tree stands taller than ever at 45 metres. Made from around 1,700 real fir trees, it has been a tradition since 1996. Meanwhile, in Italy, the town of Gubbio lights up an entire mountainside to form a giant glowing tree.
SRF Kids asked young viewers about their holiday likes and dislikes. Arthur, 10, loves the song *All I Want for Christmas Is You* and hopes for more time with his grandparents. Ian, also 10, calls his family the best gift but would still like a new notebook. Linnea, 10, enjoys making homemade presents and wishes for a sports bag and two cookbooks. Presenter Angela suggests families talk openly about gift wishes to avoid surprises. Her colleague Anna, however, admits she could do without jingly bells in Christmas music.
From towering trees to heartfelt wishes, the season blends tradition with personal touches. Children and presenters alike agree: the best gifts come from the heart, whether it’s a handmade present or simply spending time together.
