The pattern is intricate and detailed, with a variety of shapes and colors that create a unique and eye-catching design. The birds are depicted in a realistic style, with their wings spread wide and their beaks slightly open, as if they are about to take flight. The flowers are in full bloom, adding a splash of color to the otherwise monochromatic image.

Birdcore Soars From Runways to Living Rooms in 2024

A new design trend called Birdcore is taking flight in both fashion and interiors. Inspired by the elegance and freedom of birds, it blends lightness with intricate detailing. The movement first appeared in high-end fashion shows and has now spread to home decor, offering a fresh aesthetic for modern spaces.

The trend began on haute couture runways earlier this year. Schiaparelli's January 2024 Paris show featured Surrealist bird motifs, including a gown with feathered wings designed by creative director Daniel Roseberry. Dior's debut under Jonathan Anderson introduced ruffled, tulle-wrapped silhouettes, while Chanel transformed its runway into a dreamlike forest with oversized toadstools and weeping willows.

Birdcore has since moved into interiors, with brands embracing avian-inspired designs. Anthropologie's 2024 collection includes bird-patterned wallpapers and lighting, ideal for cozy reading nooks or dining rooms. Design Within Reach's 2025 line, created with Kelly Wearstler, will feature feather-inspired furniture. The motifs also pair well with stripes or florals, adding texture without overwhelming a space.

Wallpapers and fabrics depicting birds in natural settings are becoming particularly popular. These designs bring a sense of movement and organic beauty to guest bathrooms, studies, or living areas.

Birdcore's influence is expanding beyond fashion into everyday interiors. The trend's blend of independence and elegance offers a versatile way to refresh spaces. With collaborations from major brands, its presence in homes is likely to grow in the coming year.
