Bhumi Gallery has opened a new branch at Uttara Centrepoint, marking its latest expansion in Dhaka. The launch was celebrated with a group exhibition titled Resilient Becoming, curated by artist and academic Ananya Kabir. The event brings together over 100 artists, blending established names with emerging talent under one roof.

The idea for the exhibition was first proposed by Kabir, who envisioned a show that would reflect both tradition and innovation. Her concept became reality as Bhumi Gallery transformed a spacious area at Centrepoint—located near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport—into a vibrant art hub. The venue includes an extended lobby, designed to welcome visitors in a setting that merges culture with commerce.

The exhibition features more than 200 artworks, spanning sculptures, prints, drawings, and paintings. Among the contributors are legendary Bangladeshi artists such as Zainul Abedin and SM Sultan, alongside younger creators like Monirul Islam and Md Rasel Rana. This mix of generations highlights the gallery’s commitment to fostering artistic dialogue. Saifur Rahman Lenin, founder and CEO of Bhumi Gallery, described the Centrepoint branch as part of a broader mission. He emphasised its role in strengthening society’s cultural ties, particularly by placing art in a high-traffic location. The choice of a shopping centre with a Cineplex aims to draw a wider audience, making contemporary art more accessible to everyday visitors. *Resilient Becoming* will remain open until December 31, offering the public a chance to explore its diverse collection.

The new branch at Uttara Centrepoint expands Bhumi Gallery’s presence in the city. By hosting a major exhibition in a commercial space, the gallery connects art with a broader community. The show’s run until the end of December provides an extended opportunity for engagement with contemporary Bangladeshi creativity.
