Berlin’s Wedding district gains two new energy-efficient residential buildings
Two new residential buildings are taking shape in Berlin's Wedding district. Located at 22 Amsterdamer Straße and 50A Seestraße, the project is led by Cedar Real G Zwei GmbH, part of the larger Cedar Real G Group. Designs come from Bundschuh Architekten, with landscape work handled by kre_ta Landschaftsarchitekten. Both buildings are being constructed as energy-efficient properties, featuring photovoltaic systems to generate some of their own power.
Progress at 22 Amsterdamer Straße is well underway. Structural work is mostly finished, with windows fitted, balconies installed, and one side of the building already painted. While no official completion date has been set, the visible advancements suggest the project has reached a key stage. The development is expected to help ease housing pressure in Wedding, a district facing growing demand. With 58 new homes and commercial spaces, the buildings will contribute to both residential and local business needs.
Once completed, the two buildings will provide modern, energy-efficient housing in Wedding. The inclusion of photovoltaic systems and commercial units reflects a focus on sustainability and community needs. The project's progress indicates it will soon play a role in addressing Berlin's housing challenges.
