Tierpark: Free Entry in February for Visitors Aged 65 and Above - Berlin's Tierpark invites seniors for free February visits and winter animal encounters
Berlin's Tierpark is offering free entry to all visitors aged 65 and over throughout February. The initiative aims to encourage older residents to explore the park during its quietest month. Despite the winter chill, many animals remain active, and indoor areas provide warmth for guests.
The promotion runs every day in February, with no admission fee for seniors. To qualify, visitors must show a valid photo ID at the entrance. Free tickets can be booked online in advance or collected at on-site counters, helping to reduce waiting times.
The park's tropical Rainforest House, giraffe enclosure, and primate areas offer sheltered spots for those seeking a break from the cold. Meanwhile, cold-resistant species like polar bears and moose continue to thrive in the winter weather.
The campaign has gained support from local media, including the Berliner Morgenpost and 105'5 Spreeradio. Political backing has also been secured, with Finance Senator Stefan Evers endorsing the initiative.
Tierpark officials hope the free entry scheme will attract more visitors during a typically slow period. Indoor exhibits and active winter animals ensure a comfortable and engaging experience. The offer remains available to all eligible guests until the end of February.
