Berlin's Ökowerk invites families to a fiery forest adventure this March
A family-friendly nature event will take place at Berlin's Ökowerk Naturschutzzentrum on March 1, 2026. From midday to 4:00 PM, kids and parents can explore the forest, light fires, and share stories by the flames. The gathering combines outdoor activities with traditional storytelling and music.
The event begins with a guided walk through the nearby woods. Participants will collect kindling and learn how to safely start a fire in a designated fire bowl. Once the flames are lit, families can gather around for a cosy afternoon of nature-themed songs and tales.
The programme includes stories about fire and ancient rituals, giving kids a glimpse into how people once lived in harmony with nature. Admission costs €8 for adults, with reduced tickets at €4. An extra €4 covers materials for the activities.
While Ökowerk often appears in family event guides, this specific gathering stands out for its hands-on approach. Other Berlin venues, like the FEZ, also host nature events during school holidays, such as Osterferien (March 28–April 12, 2026) and Sommerferien (July 11–August 23, 2026).
The event offers a mix of outdoor learning and cultural traditions. Families will leave with new skills in fire-making and a deeper connection to nature. Tickets are available now for those wanting to join the March 1 gathering.
