Berlin’s ‘NEST’ project redefines eco-living in Weißensee by 2027
A new residential development, 'NEST', is set to transform Berlin's Pankow district of Weißensee by 2027. The project, overseen by Kondor Wessels Wohnen Berlin GmbH, will meet high ecological standards and offer excellent transport links. The development, designed by Nöfer Architekten and bdp real estate GmbH, will rise on a site benefiting from excellent transport links, situated along the M4 MetroTram line. This direct connection to Alexanderplatz will enhance the residents' quality of life. The 'NEST' development will adhere to stringent ecological benchmarks. It will meet the KfW Efficiency House 40 standard and comply with the EU Taxonomy's sustainability criteria. Additionally, it aims to achieve BREEAM certification (Part 1) at the 'Very Good' excellence level. The project will deliver roughly 9,000 square meters of rental space, featuring four partially below-ground buildings offering 147 rental units. These units will range from compact one-room studios to spacious four-bedroom apartments. The ground floors will include communal areas designed to encourage social interaction. These will feature an indoor playground and multifunctional rooms, contributing to local amenities alongside small-scale commercial units. The 'NEST' development, set to begin construction in 2025 and complete by 2027, promises to be an eco-friendly, well-connected addition to Berlin's Weißensee. With its range of rental units and communal spaces, it aims to create a vibrant, sustainable community.
