Berlin Food Bank Run unites runners for charity in fifth edition
The Berlin Food Bank Run returns this year for its fifth edition. The event brings together runners of all levels to support a local charity while enjoying a community-focused race. Participants will carry donations of food and hygiene products to help those in need.
Runners can choose from seven starting points across the city. These include Brandenburg Gate, Pankow Town Hall, ICC Entrance, Kleist Park, Lichtenberg S-Bahn Station, Ernst-Ruska-Ufer Bridge, and Tiergarten S-Bahn Station. Each group will cover different distances but arrive at the finish line around the same time.
The race is designed to be inclusive, with no emphasis on speed. Instead, the focus remains on unity and shared effort. After completing their run, participants will gather for refreshments and a thank-you ceremony. Founder Sabine Werth will then lead a tour of the Berlin Food Bank's facilities at the Berlin Wholesale Market, where all donations will be delivered.
The event blends fitness with charity, as every runner brings food or hygiene items. These contributions go directly to the Berlin Food Bank, supporting its mission to combat hunger in the city.
The run concludes with a celebration of community effort and generosity. Donations collected during the event will be transported to the Berlin Food Bank's headquarters. Organisers hope the fifth edition will build on the success of previous years, encouraging even more people to take part.
