Belarusians: Beat Window Condensation with These Simple Steps

Belarusians are facing window condensation issues, especially during heating seasons. The Capital Communal Department's Telegram channel has provided solutions to tackle this problem.

Belarusians are experiencing window condensation due to heating. The Telegram channel of the Capital Communal Department has advised improving ventilation and regular airing of rooms to solve this issue. Ventilating after showering, washing, and cooking recipes is particularly important. Opening windows for 5-10 minutes several times a day helps reduce moisture. Not blocking radiators with thick curtains allows for better heat distribution. Using a hood and covering pots while cooking also helps control moisture in the kitchen. Additionally, plants like geraniums or spider plants can absorb moisture on windowsills. A simple method is using dry rice in a bag on the windowsill, but it needs changing every few days to maintain effectiveness. Drying laundry on the balcony or in a well-ventilated room also helps reduce indoor moisture. However, wiping window condensate with a cloth is ineffective and can lead to mold and mildew.

Belarusians can combat window condensation by improving ventilation, using hoods while cooking, not blocking radiators, and using moisture-absorbing plants or rice bags. Regular airing and drying laundry properly also help reduce indoor moisture.
