Belarus exceeds 2025 energy and industrial targets with record growth

Belarus has reported strong progress in its energy and industrial sectors for 2025. The country met key targets in metal production, electricity generation, and infrastructure upgrades. Several major projects were completed ahead of schedule, with plans already set for further expansion in 2026.

In 2025, Belarus fully met its delivery targets for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The country also produced $10.08 million worth of import-substituting goods, surpassing its goal by 41.2%.

The energy sector saw significant activity. Belarus generated 43.07 billion kWh of electricity and supplied 34.386 million Gcal of thermal energy to consumers. Maintenance work included major repairs on over 20,900 km of power transmission lines, along with clearing 19,116.51 hectares of right-of-way for overhead lines.

Heating infrastructure also received attention, with 301.1 km of networks repaired and reconstructed—exceeding the target by 5%. Additionally, seven substations were rebuilt and put back into operation.

Looking ahead, Belarus has outlined plans for 2026. These include the construction and modernisation of major substations and power lines, focusing on 220 kV and 330 kV facilities.

The completed upgrades and exceeded targets highlight Belarus's focus on energy reliability and industrial self-sufficiency. With further projects scheduled for 2026, the country aims to strengthen its infrastructure and production capacity in the coming year.
