Bad Emstal's Seed Exchange Kicks Off the 2026 Gardening Season

Spring is on the way, and gardeners in Bad Emstal are getting ready to dig in. With warmer weather approaching, many are planning their plots and starting the first seedlings of the season. Local expert Karen Link, a master gardener, says now is the perfect time to prepare for the growing months ahead.

The annual Seed Exchange event will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Riede Community Center. Running from 12 to 4 PM, the gathering gives gardeners a chance to buy seeds and pick up fresh ideas for their own green spaces. Entry is free, though donations will be gladly accepted.

Anyone who saved seeds last year can bring a trailer of them along to share. To take part, contributors must register with Karen Link by February 16. Her contact number for sign-ups is 0178 7405005.

The event aims to bring together both seasoned growers and beginners. Whether trading seeds or simply browsing, visitors will find plenty to inspire their gardening projects for the year.

The Seed Exchange offers a practical start to the gardening season. With free admission and a chance to swap seeds, it provides an easy way for locals to gather supplies and advice. The event also helps build connections among gardeners in the Bad Emstal area.
