Avtozavodsky's New Library Becomes a Cultural Hub for All Ages
A newly renovated library in Avtozavodsky District, equipped with modern facilities and diverse events, opened its doors in December 2025. Since then, it has quickly become the cultural heart of the area, attracting residents of all ages.
On the opening day, over 150 visitors explored the library's fresh layout. Eleven of them signed up for a unified reader's card, granting access to its resources. The event also featured an exhibition commemorating the anniversary of the Lifting of the Siege of Leningrad.
Younger guests received special attention. Preschoolers and their parents enjoyed an interactive tour of the library's spaces. A quiz on fairy tales and cartoons kept the youngest visitors engaged, while older students from School No. 5 took part in a media tour. Their session focused on the history of Melnikov Street and the surrounding neighborhood.
The district's libraries, including this new addition, serve as vibrant hubs for knowledge and culture. Together, they welcome over 600,000 visitors each year. Last year's Library Night event alone drew more than a thousand locals from Nizhny Novgorod. District head Alexander Nagin noted that Avtozavodsky District now boasts 12 municipal libraries, each playing a key role in community life.
The library's grand opening marked the start of a new chapter for the district. With its modern facilities and engaging programs, it continues to attract families, students, and history enthusiasts. The space is set to remain a central gathering point for cultural and educational activities in the years ahead.
