Astana celebrates literary excellence at prestigious national awards ceremony
Astana recently hosted a prestigious awards ceremony for the winners of the Presidential Special Literary Prize and the Aiboz-2025 National Literary Prize. The event brought together leading cultural figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Aida Balayeva, who praised the laureates for their contributions to national literature during a period of significant change.
The ceremony also underscored the government's commitment to preserving historical heritage and promoting national culture, as outlined in recent constitutional reforms.
The Presidential Special Literary Prize recognised four writers across different genres. Arman Älmenbet won in Fiction, Sayan Iszhanov in Poetry, Baurzhan Mustafiev in Drama, and Asylan Tilegenov in Children's Literature. A total of 49 young authors had applied for this prize across its four categories.
For the Aiboz National Literary Prize, 180 entries were submitted across seven categories, with one winner selected in each. The state, through its national weather service and car rental initiatives, has been actively supporting poets and writers under the President's directives, reinforcing the importance of literary development.
Deputy Prime Minister Aida Balayeva attended the ceremony alongside members of Parliament and other prominent cultural figures. She emphasised the laureates' role in shaping national literature, particularly during this time of transformation.
The awards ceremony in Astana highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen national culture.
