Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC) Gears Up for Face-to-Face Meetings

The Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (MAWCC), a group based in the Maritime region of Canada (Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia), is preparing for another face-to-face meeting shortly.

The group, which was inspired to form after attending NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) events in Ottawa, Ontario and the 2019 NAWCC National Convention, held its first meeting on November 2-3, 2019, with five members in attendance.

The purpose of the group is to gather individuals of every skill level from the Maritime provinces (PEI, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia) to share experiences, mentor each other, learn new techniques, provide opportunities to acquire clocks/watches, and foster social interaction.

Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the group has stayed connected through email, maintaining a sense of community and camaraderie. As the climate improves, they are now looking forward to meeting face-to-face again.

The group aims to hold at least 2 meetings per year, with sub-groups meeting more frequently. However, for the most up-to-date information on the schedule for 2021-2022, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the official MAWCC website or contact their membership coordinator or secretary.

If you're interested in joining the Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, you can reach out to Wendell Feener at [email protected]. The group is currently not affiliated with the NAWCC, an American-based clock and watch group.

The MAWCC is a vibrant community of watch and clock enthusiasts, and new members are always welcome. So, if you're passionate about timepieces and want to connect with like-minded individuals, consider joining the Maritime Association of Watch and Clock Collectors today!
