Arunachal Pradesh’s soil and water conservation directorate celebrated World Soil Day with a focus on sustainable land management and climate resilience. The event brought together officials, scientists, and students to highlight the importance of healthy soil for food security and climate adaptation.

The celebration took place in partnership with Papumpare Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK). Scientists, technical officers, and subject specialists joined discussions on planning, design, and implementation challenges in soil and water conservation.

The directorate emphasised soil’s vital role in supporting food production, urban green spaces, and climate adaptation. By promoting scientific land use and sustainable practices, the event aimed to raise awareness and encourage wider adoption of conservation methods.
