Arlo Hotels transforms Midtown NYC into a celestial art haven with Paul Kuntze's bold frescoes
Arlo Hotels has unveiled its latest exhibition in the Living Room Gallery series, this time at its Midtown location in New York City. The show features celestial-themed paintings by German artist Paul Kuntze, created in partnership with Square One Gallery. The opening reception takes place on February 6, 2026, with free entry for both hotel guests and the public.
Kuntze's Modern Fresco series blends Baroque ceiling art with contemporary techniques. Using acrylic sprays and bold brushwork, his paintings reimagine traditional frescoes through an abstract lens. The artist draws inspiration from Baroque aesthetics while pushing boundaries in modern visual language.
The Living Room Gallery series, launched in 2023, turns Arlo's communal spaces into cultural hubs. Previous exhibitions have showcased works by artists like Damien Hirst and Tyler Shields. Each piece in the series can be purchased via a QR code, making art collecting more accessible.
Beyond visual art, the launch events include panel discussions and live music. The series spans Arlo's locations in New York City, Wynwood, Chicago, and Washington DC. Since its founding, the hotel brand has focused on immersive, culture-driven experiences for guests and visitors alike.
Kuntze's exhibition marks another step in Arlo's mission to bring contemporary art into everyday spaces. The event on February 6 will offer a chance to view and acquire his celestial-inspired works. Free and open to all, it continues the hotel's tradition of blending hospitality with creative expression.
