Anticipation mounts as Wiesn Fever grips society, causing widespread tremors in social contacts.

The countdown to Oktoberfest 2025 in Munich has begun, with anticipation growing day by day. This year's event, scheduled from September 20 to October 5, promises to be an unforgettable celebration, complete with new rides, souvenirs, and music.

One of the most exciting developments is the introduction of the "A Liad Für d'Wiesn" music competition. Eight songs by artists from Bavaria and surrounding regions have been selected for public voting, with the aim of finding new potential Wiesn hits suitable for the festival tents. The competition, which started on June 12 and runs until July 16, invites the public to participate and stand a chance to win tickets, beer vouchers, and chicken vouchers provided by the Munich Breweries Association.

The diversity of regional music is on display in this competition, with a mix of traditional folk music, techno and house music remixes inspired by Wiesn themes, and classic polka and party anthems. The winner(s) from this contest may become new popular songs or "hits" at Oktoberfest 2025, influencing the festive atmosphere with fresh melodies and themes tailored for the event.

In addition to the music, visitors can look forward to a variety of new rides and attractions. The "Happy Sailor" carousel, with 20 rotating gondolas, is among the new additions, offering a nautical twist to the traditional carousel experience. For those seeking a bird's eye view of the festival grounds, the Sky Lift, which lifts guests 71 meters above the city, is not to be missed. The panoramic windows on the floor of the Sky Lift's cabins provide a breathtaking view of the festivities below.

Accessibility is a top priority at the Oktoberfest, as stated by Munich's Economic Affairs and Wiesn chief, Christian Scharpf. Ten fountains with free drinking water have been added to the Oktoberfest grounds, and more streets are being made barrier-free for easier accessibility. The Sky Lift ride is also barrier-free, allowing access with a wheelchair. A group from the "Pfennigparade" foundation, which advocates for inclusion, will test the accessibility offerings at the Oktoberfest.

With approximately six million visitors expected at the Oktoberfest, also known as the Wiesn, the event remains the world's largest folk festival. Munich's Economic Affairs and Wiesn chief has confirmed that preparations for the Oktoberfest are on schedule.

As the excitement builds, one song seems to be standing out. Liedermacher Oimara, alias Beni Hafner, is already considered the secret favorite for the potential Wiesn hit with his song "Wackelkontakt". The Wiesn tent is not far behind in its support for Hafner's song.

Stay tuned for updates on the "A Liad Für d'Wiesn" music competition, as the winner will be determined in mid-September. The Oktoberfest 2025 promises to be a celebration like no other, filled with music, rides, and camaraderie. Don't miss out on the fun!
