Annual Charity Event Organized by Anne Arundel County Public Library Foundation: 'For the Love of the Library' Fundraiser
The Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) Foundation recently hosted its annual fundraising event, "For the Love of the Library," which raised an impressive sum of over $150,000. This figure surpasses the $143,000 raised in the previous year.
The event, held at the Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library, is a celebration and fundraiser aimed at supporting critical programs and services across the county’s library system. The funds raised are allocated towards various initiatives, including early childhood literacy, teen engagement, kindergarten readiness, and lifelong learning opportunities for adults.
The evening offers a cocktail-style atmosphere with catering, themed activities, a wine and whiskey pull, and an auction offering unique experiences. This year, local best-selling author Brigid Kemmerer will be a featured guest. Tickets are currently on sale, with early bird pricing available until September 8, after which they will increase to $125.
In addition to individual tickets, the foundation offers corporate partnership packages, with levels ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Benefits for sponsors include recognition across library branches and in AACPL’s quarterly publication, Library Happenings.
Proceeds from the event support programming such as kindergarten readiness initiatives and enrichment opportunities for youth and adults. The 2025 event is scheduled for Friday, September 19, from 6 to 9 p.m.
