Ancient World Time Travel Event in Schwarzenacker: Experience Historical Time Travel on September 13th and 14th, 2025

The Roman Museum in Homburg-Schwarzenacker is set to host the traditional Roman Days on September 13 and 14, 2025. This historical reenactment festival promises to transport visitors back in time, offering a glimpse into the Roman heritage of the area.

During the Roman Days, visitors can witness gladiatorial fights, Roman trials, and historical crafts, all performed by individuals dressed in authentic attire. The event will feature a variety of interactive activities, authentic performances, and culinary specialties, including Roman-inspired dishes prepared by the "Roman Innkeeper" Capitolinus.

The Roman Days offer a family-friendly program, with an interactive zone where children can explore the world of 2,000 years ago in a playful manner. They can participate in activities designed as young archaeologists or craftspeople.

The festival will also include insights into Roman fashion, wall paintings, and cultural life during the imperial period. A counterfeiter's arrest, a crowd-pleaser for years, is a highlight of the Roman Days.

Philipp Scheidweiler, Managing Director of the Roman Museum Homburg-Schwarzenacker Foundation, emphasises that the Roman Days bring the Roman city to life. The Roman Museum grounds will transform into a center of ancient life, with authentic Roman costumes, military reenactments, and demonstrations of daily life, crafts, and gladiator fights.

Cultural programs including music and theatrical performances, as well as exhibitions about the archaeological site of Schwarzenacker, a Roman vicus (settlement), are also part of the festival. The soup kitchen and grill station will complete the culinary offerings at the Roman Days.

For the most accurate and updated information closer to September 2025, checking official local cultural event websites or the Homburg tourist office is advisable. More information about the Roman Days can be found on the Roman Museum's website and social media channels. The Roman Days will take place from 9 am to 6 pm, and admission is three euros, which includes guided tours and all performances.

Explore the Roman-themed lifestyle at the Roman Museum home-and-garden during the Roman Days. Engage in workshops and activities that recreate the everyday life of Romans, including crafts, fashion demonstrations, and trial simulations.
