Amazon Launches Alexa+ Chatbot in US, Expands Features and AI Capabilities
Amazon is rolling out a new version of its voice assistant, Alexa+, in the US. This AI-powered chatbot can engage in conversations, moving beyond simple commands. While no date is set for Germany, Amazon has hinted at a beta launch there.
Alexa+ is set to expand beyond homes, with plans to integrate into cars. Amazon envisions a future where Alexa+ can provide reminders like feeding pets or locking doors at night, using data from Ring security cameras to analyze home activity.
One standout feature in the US is 'Search Party'. This uses Ring cameras to help find lost pets in the neighborhood. Amazon is redeveloping large parts of Alexa+'s software to compete with new AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
Amazon's Alexa+ is launching in the US with chatbot capabilities and expanded features. While a German launch is planned, no specific date has been provided. The new version aims to compete with other AI chatbots and integrate more deeply into users' lives.
