Alterations for Sewing Patterns Corrected

In the world of sewing, keeping patterns accurate is paramount. Here are the latest pattern corrections for Simply Sewing magazine, as of late July 2025:

  1. Sew Over It Tulip Skirt, Issue 5: A printing error in the size chart (digital edition was correct) has been addressed. A corrected size chart is available for download. This error was unrelated to designer Lisa Comfort.
  2. The Shirt Dress, Issue 8: The pattern sheet included a missing piece, the Shirt Dress Button Extension. This additional piece can be downloaded along with the full pattern sheet and templates for Issue 8. Additionally, the pattern instructions for collar and band pieces were incorrect; you should cut two pieces on the fold instead of one.
  3. The Cat Cape, Issue 9: The hood scale was omitted. To rectify this, you must increase the template scale by 140%, or download a new properly scaled template to use at 100%.
  4. The Milan Dress from Issue 121: The front and back bodice pieces were mislabeled. Corrected pattern pieces are available for download.
  5. The Ultimate Dungarees from issue 125: The pattern sheet lacked buttonhole placements for these dungarees.
  6. The Bailey Hoodie from issue 130: The pattern instructions contained an error. The correct instruction for the Bailey Hoodie Lower Front and Pocket Bag alignment has been provided.
  7. The Simone Blouse from issue 136: Both the front and back bodice pieces were incorrect. Corrected Simone Blouse bodice pieces 1 and 2 are available for download.
  8. The Kiko Jacket from issue 103: The size key in the pattern was incorrect and needed to be rotated 180 degrees. The correct size chart is now available.
  9. The Vita Blouse from issue 112: The neckline sizes on the Blouse Front and Back pieces were incorrect. Downloadable A4 sheets for the corrected Vita Blouse Front and Back pieces are available.
  10. The Joni Jumpsuit from issue 110: The Back Bodice (piece 5) was missing from the pattern.
  11. The Penny Dress, issue 105: Pattern piece D (pockets) was missing from the Penny Dress. Downloadable pockets for the Penny Dress are now available.
  12. The Joni Jumpsuit Back Bodice: Downloadable A4 sheets to complete the Joni Jumpsuit Back Bodice are available.
  13. The Waistband (currently labelled F) for various patterns: Should be 'cut on the fold'.
  14. The Sleeve Cuff (currently labelled H) for various patterns: Should be 'cut one pair' for each Sleeve.
  15. The Marie Dress, issue 104: Pieces F and H (Waistband and Sleeve Cuff) were incorrectly labeled.
