Organic Retailer Alnatura Boosts Sales Again - Alnatura Expands with Eight New Organic Food Stores in Germany

Alnatura, the organic food retailer, is expanding its presence across Germany. The company plans to open eight new stores in the current fiscal year, adding to its growing network. This move comes alongside strong financial growth and ongoing support for sustainable farming.

Last year, Alnatura saw its revenue rise by 6.6 percent, reaching €1.27 billion. The company also increased its workforce by five percent, now employing 3,718 people. These figures reflect steady expansion in the organic food market.

Two of the new store locations have been confirmed: Ingolstadt-Friedrichshofen and Hamburg-Barmbek. The remaining six locations have not yet been publicly named. Once opened, the total number of Alnatura stores will exceed 160.

Beyond retail growth, the company remains committed to sustainability. Over the past decade, it has helped 131 farms switch from conventional to organic production. This effort has converted 21,000 hectares of land to organic farming. Alnatura will continue supporting similar transitions in the current fiscal year.

The retailer is also investing in its infrastructure. A new 30,000-square-meter warehouse in Groß-Rohrheim, southern Hesse, is under construction. Designed to meet Platinum certification for sustainable building, it will strengthen the company’s logistics and IT systems.

Alnatura’s expansion includes new stores, workforce growth, and continued support for organic farming. The company’s investments in logistics and sustainability reinforce its position in the organic food sector. With revenue rising and infrastructure improving, the retailer is set for further development in the coming year.
