Activities at the Botanical Garden in October
The Botanical Garden Chemnitz is preparing for a series of engaging events this October, organized by the Friends of the Botanical Garden Chemnitz e. V.
"Reptiles and Amphibians in the Vivarium" takes place on Wednesday, 8th October, at 3 PM. This event offers a fascinating tour, exploring the world of various animals including amphibians, fish, reptiles, arthropods, and insects. Breeders will provide on-site information about the lifestyle, breeding, and threats in nature.
On Thursday, 23rd October, at 4 PM, join the guided tour titled "Plant Festival 'Harvest'" as part of the series Lived Neighborhood Chemnitz 2025. The meeting point is at the main building of the Botanical Garden Chemnitz.
For those interested in birds, the "Bird Watch - Bird Exhibition" takes place on Saturday, 25th October, and Sunday, 26th October, from 9 AM to 6 PM. This event aims to awaken interest in the world of birds among children and young people.
In addition, on Sunday, 12th October, from 2 PM to 4:30 PM, there is a seminar titled "Healing Roots - Bouncing Bet Salve". This course focuses on processing the fresh root of bouncing bet into an effective salve. Admission is 40 Euro, and registration is required by 1st October at www.stonewood-kraeuter.de/seminars.
The Botanical Garden's opening hours in October are daily from 8 AM to 6 PM. Further information about species conservation through breeding in aviaries will be provided on display boards.
Admission for the events is free, but donations are welcome. However, for the seminar "Healing Roots - Bouncing Bet Salve", there is a fee of 40 Euro. Registration is required by 1st October at www.stonewood-kraeuter.de/seminars.
Please note that the opening hours of the Botanical Garden have been changed as of 16th September 2025. The meeting point for all events is in front of the main building of the Botanical Garden Chemnitz.
