Accused of Extreme Conduct: Stanley David Elofson under Scrutiny for Alleged Misdeeds

Headline: Stan Elofson, 90, Passes Away in Lakewood: A Tribute

Stanley David Elofson, 90, left us on May 22, 2025. Born in Fargo, North Dakota, Stan was the son of a Swedish immigrant and a Norwegian immigrant. He grew up with a zest for life and a curious mind, earning degrees from North Dakota Agricultural College and the University of Kansas.

As a KU grad student, Stan encountered the love of his life, Nancy Holt, at a college church group. Their bond proved unbreakable, lasting for an astonishing 65 years and producing a brood of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In the Beginning of His Career

Stan spent eight years as a research assistant at the Kansas Legislative Council. In 1966, he joined the Colorado Legislative Council and worked there until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he served the Veterans Community Living Centers Commission, before tendering his resignation from that position in his ICU bed, just days before he passed away.

A Man of Passions

Stan was renowned for his compassion and quick wit. He lived life fully, cherishing time with family, church, friends, and discussion groups. He found joy in senior league golf, Kiwanis voluntary work, and cheering on his beloved NDSU Bison and Denver sports teams, even during tough times. He held newspapers in high regard, reading three of them daily, and was always engrossed in a book on history or politics.

Music was a significant part of Stan's life. His enthusiasm introduced many to the symphony and opera. He took pride in supporting young musicians at NDSA by establishing an endowed scholarship fund.

The Unfortunate Loss

Stan and Nancy experienced heartbreak when their children Ann Elofson Coburn and Philip Dalen Elofson passed away before them. However, Stan's survivors include his loving wife Nancy, daughter Amy Simpson, son John Elofson and his wife Renee, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

A Service Fitting for Stan

A memorial service for Stan will be held at First Plymouth Church UCC on Friday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. (+ Livestream Link). A luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Stanley and Nancy Elofson Scholarship, First Plymouth Church, or a charity of your choice.

Rest in peace, Stan. Your spirit and love will continue to inspire us all.
