AAS Reiman Gardens Showcases Award-Winning Plants: 'Mad Hatter' Pepper & 'ROYAL HAWAIIANR Waikiki' Elephant Ear

The All-America Selections (AAS) website is a hub for plant enthusiasts, offering insights into trial and display sites, winners, and blogs. Reiman Gardens, a notable trial site and display garden, showcases award-winning plants like the petite elephant ear, Colocasia esculenta 'ROYAL HAWAIIANR Waikiki', and the citrusy pepper, Capsicum baccatum 'Mad Hatter'.

The 'Mad Hatter' pepper, an AAS winner, is a bishops crown type with a unique citrusy flavor. It can become spicy in hot, dry conditions. Another winner, the potato Solanum tuberosum 'Clancy', is grown from seed and produces small, red potatoes perfect for roasting or mashing. The 'ROYAL HAWAIIANR Waikiki' elephant ear is a tricolor plant with dramatic red stems, adding a pop of color to beds and containers.

AAS, the only national, non-profit plant trialing program in North America, ensures these plants meet high standards. While no recent reviews from institutions are available, Reiman Gardens continues to display these winners, attracting visitors with its beautiful and award-winning plants.

The All-America Selections website and Reiman Gardens offer a wealth of information and visuals on exceptional plants. From petite elephant ears to citrusy peppers and flavorful potatoes, these winners are not only attractive but also functional, adding variety and taste to gardens and meals.
